For over eight years, IKBK has worked with Billabong Japan on its annual Billabong Surfing Games series. This is an amateur surfing contest attracting competitors from all over Japan.
From young grommets to elderly surfers, it’s a great event to be involved with. From the wee hours of the morning – rain, hail or shine – everyone’s on the beach to cheer friends and family as they compete.
In the early beginnings of the event, when social media was still in its infancy, our only digital outlet was a blog on the Billabong Japan website.
Four years ago, we decided to create a dedicated website and ever since, the contest has had a huge following. Over the years, the site has evolved in response to mobile demand and is now 100% responsive. This is ideal for all of the younger visitors who view the site on their mobile phones.
